Bahrain Royal Defence Force Hospital

Bahrain Royal Defence is one of the major medical facilities in Bahrain and is an integral part of the healthcare system. It has special responsibility for Emergency services and houses the Bahrain Cardiac Centre.

The Bahrain Royal Defence is located at Riffa 16 kms to the south of the capital Manama and primarily provdes medical services to the personnel from both the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Interior and their dependents

The facility was initially established in the early 1970’s and by 1979 the bed capacity had increased to 120 beds,

A new hospital was established in 1992 which resulted in the expansion of the existing medical services along with the establishment of specialized cardiac center.

The Bahrain Defence Force Hospital now has 400 bed capacity hospital with services for inpatient, outpatient and emergency patients. The hospital ranks as the second largest hospital in Bahrain.

The main mission of the Bahrain Royal Defence hospital is to provide primary and secondary health careare services to the Military and Interior forces, emergency services for the public, specialized medical for referral patients and government VIP’s .
