Ash International was founded in 1998 with the specific purpose of the recruitment of senior medical personnel in countries of the Arabian peninsula – Saudi Arabia, UAE and other gulf states.

Over the past 20 years Ash International has worked with the major Government and private institutions in the Middle East region.

As a family run business our core aims are to provide professional, personal and dedicated service to both clients and candidates.

Meet the Team


Andrew Herbert

Director, founder and seasoned Recruitment Consultant, Andrew created Ash International by seeing an opportunity in the ever-growing Middle Eastern medical sector. By using contacts previously acquired through years of working in recruitment in London, he founded the company in 1998 being one of the first UK agencies to work in the region and making him one of the most experienced recruiters involved with the medical sector in the Middle East. This experience has led to Ash International being able to recruit hundreds upon hundreds of healthcare professionals over the last 20 years. Over this time, we’ve worked with numerous, prestigious hospitals and as such we’ve managed to stay competitive in this market as a small, independent company. By priding ourselves on our customer service, we’ve received many repeat applications from satisfied candidates. Two decades later, Andrew is still going strong, more committed than ever to providing excellent candidates with great opportunities.

Andrew’s first placement in 1998 is still working in the same post as of today. This gives him deep satisfaction on both a personal and professional level.

Andrew is an avid football fan and enjoys being at Stamford Bridge watching the Blues. He’s a big fan of history, and loves visiting places with vibrant culture and historical value.

Recruitment Consultant

James Herbert

James has been working in the recruitment industry for six years now, having joined Ash International at the age of 17 in 2011. Starting as a Junior Consultant, over time he has learnt a variety of relevant skills and has many placements to his name. From conducting his first interviews at the age of 18, his knowledge of the industry has grown and allows him to provide key information and professional advice to all applicants. He takes enormous pride in the personal care and attention to detail he provides to each candidate looking for potential employment; something that Ash International itself values its service on.

James is an avid football fan, watching his beloved Arsenal whenever he can. As you can imagine, there’s quite the family rivalry when Chelsea play Arsenal. He also is a skiing lover, feeling at home on the slopes of some of the world’s greatest mountains. It’s James’ life goal to travel to every continent, having already visited some incredible places around the world.

Recruitment Co-ordinator

Louise Herbert

Louise is the Recruitment Co-ordinator in our team. Her role includes keeping track of our background work, and ensuring that Ash International runs smoothly behind the scenes so that our Consultants can progress efficiently. Louise is an experienced and skilled administrator, and has a good knowledge of the medical sector. Her assistance is invaluable to Ash International and she is an integral part of our team.

Louise is very enthusiastic about healthy living. She enjoys Pilates and going to the gym, as well as cooking a variety of healthy meals. She also enjoys travelling to new places and has a passion for skiing.
