National Guard Hospitals, Saudi Arabia

The National Guard hospitals are located in major cities and regions of Saudi Arabia and range in size from a 120 bed secondary care facility to 1600 bed major referral hospital.

The Ministry of National Guard Health Affiars hospitals provide primary care, secondary care and tertiary care services to members of the National Guard, their dependents, civilians and VIP patients in their hospitals located in Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Ahsa, Dammam and Madinah.

The National Guard Hospitals are considered amongst the finist hospitals in the kingdom and the King Abdulaziz Medical City and newly opened KIng Abdullah Childrens Hospital, Riyadh are the flagship projects. All MNGHA hospitals offer a high quality of care. MNGHA passed the requirements for accreditation under the (JCI) Joint Commission International in December 2006.  This accreditation included all of NGHA hospitals open at that time.

800-bed King Abdulaziz Medical City – Jeddah

600-bed King Abdullah Specialised Children’s Hospital, Riyadh
325-bed King Abdulaziz Medical City – Al Ahsa
125-bed Imam AbdulRahman Al-Faisal Hospital – Dammam
320-bed Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital – Madinah

King Abdulaziz Medical City – Riyadh

Opened originally in 1983 KAMC Riyadh has contiued to expand and develop its services and now offers a high quality of service in all medical and surgical specialties including the King Abdulaziz Cardiac Center and highly specialised translant and hepatobiliary services.

The Emergency Care Center at KAMC continues to be the best Trauma Care Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is ranked as the 4th Emergency Care Center outside the United States of America, to provide (PHTLS) Pre-Hospital Trauma and Life Support programme

.In 2004 NGHA established the College of Medicine and the College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences. NGHA through the establishment of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences

The KAMC Riyadh complex also houses the King Abdullah Specialised Children’s Hospital a 600 bed hospital which commenced operations with the opening of the Paediatric Emergency Department and the transfer of 90 patients inclusive of 11 Intensive care critical patients on 19th and 20th April 2015. The bed strength is allocated as follows: Paediatric, Medicine Surgery  276 beds Which includes dedicated Sleep Study, Epilepsy Monitoring and VIP Units  Oncology and Hematology  142 beds Organ Transplant Surgery  72 beds Intensive Care Units  62 beds inclusive of a dedicated Paediatric Burns Unit Other: 48 beds.

There are 14 Operating Rooms and 2 Interventional Radiology Rooms to support the full range of emergency and elective surgeries, with dedicated operating rooms for organ transplant and the separation of conjoined twins. Other onsite clinical services include:Endoscopy, Peritoneal Dialysis, Hemodialysis, Neurology, Neurophysiology, Pain Management Medical Imaging, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Respiratory, Dietetics, Rehabilitation, Dedicated Clinical Specialty Ambulatory Clinics are provided supporting all of the above specialties.  As an Academic Teaching hospital there are On-site Conference Rooms, Lecture Halls and Electronic Library facilities.

King Abdulaziz Medical City – Jeddah

Originally opened in 1982 the hospital has expanded to a current bed strength of 800 beds to serve the needs of the members of the National Guard, their dependents, civilians and VIP patients in the Jeddah area. In addition to providing  Anesthesia & ICU, Cardiopulmonary Services ,Oral & Dental Surgery ,Emergency Medicine, Medical Imaging , Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Surgery and the Home Health Care Program KAMC Jeddah is home to The Princess Norah Oncology Centre opened in 2001 with Medical Oncology and Pediatric Oncology as the main focus. Subsequent developments have  expanded services to include  Bone Marrow Transplantation; Brachytherapy and Outreach Programs

King Abdulaziz Medical City – Al Ahsa (King Abdulaziz Hospital)

This 325 bedded hospital was opened in 2002.  It provides National Guard personnel,  their dependents, eligible Saudi civilians and VPIP patients with the highest quality of primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services in the Al Ahsa reqion of eastern Saudi Arabia. The hospital provides all main medical, surgical,  paediatric and obstetric & Gynaecological specialist care. There are four Operating Rooms and two Day Surgery Operation Rooms,

Imam AbdulRahman Al-Faisal Hospital – Dammam

The hospital was opened on October 14th 2002. It is internationally accredited by JCIA. The hospital accommodates 112 beds, an Intensive Care Unit of 6 beds, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of 5 beds, 4 Operation Rooms, and 4 Delivery Rooms. Outpatient clinics cater for 7000 patients monthly and the hospital receives 4000 emergency patients per month.

Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital – Madinah 

This recently opened hospital has a 320 bed capacity and serves the needs of the  National Guard personnel, their dependents, eligible Saudi civilians and VIP patients in the Madinah area. The hospital has the following services

Laboratory Medicine, Medical Imaging, Dentistry,  Anesthesiology, Intensive Care Unit, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Paediatrics, Pathology, Family Medicine, Infection Prevention & Control, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology Surgery, Ear, Nose & Throat, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology & Metab. Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Medical Education, Primary Health Care
